What do Emily Dickinson, a lightning bolt, and a contributor to the success of penicillin have in common? In some way, they each played a role in Cobalt’s success at the 2021 MarCom Awards. In fact, Cobalt received four awards at the annual competition. (Keep reading to understand all of the connections.)
MarCom Awards is an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers.
MarCom Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). The organization, founded in 1994, consists of several thousand creative professionals. The Association oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges and sets standards for excellence.
Three types of awards are possible. Platinum winners are recognized for their excellence in terms of quality, creativity, and resourcefulness. Gold winners are judged to exceed the high standards of the industry norm. About 17 percent of winners received the Platinum award; about 17 percent won a Gold award.
There were over 6,000 entries from the United States, Canada and 39 other countries. Entries are judged at random and are not grouped by categories. Entries receiving scores between 90-100 points are Platinum winners. Entries with 80-89 points are Gold Winners. Entries scoring from 70-79 receive an Honorable Mention. Entries that do not meet the judge’s expectations receive no recognition.
